The best plant-based products to celebrate Plant Power Day. I thought it would be nice to introduce you all to some products that are plant-based.

As we move towards the Summer Holidays I plan to highlight some delicious, affordable and easy to cook picnic and BBQ recipes. This is part three from a series of vegan picnic ideas from Louise Palmer-Masterton , who is the founder of multiple award-winning restaurants Stem & Glory.

When Stem and Glory first opened the doors to their first restaurant, they had a Czech Chef. Soon after they were introduced to this recipe and it has become a staple item since. Vegan ‘Egg’ Mayo Sandwiches

Vegan ‘Quiche’

Makes 8 large slices

This is a staple in our house. It’s very tasty straight from the oven and works fab cold in a picnic with some pickle.

By all means, make your own pastry, but there are very good vegan pre-made shortcrust in every supermarket.

The ‘VLT’ (Vegan BLT)

Makes 2-4 rounds of sandwiches depending on the bread size

This has been on our menu at Stem & Glory Cambridge for years and it’s an absolute winner.

The trick is making the tempeh bacon super thin and super crispy and having just the right amount of mayo to make it sing!

We are not Vegetarian or Vegan, however I am determined to bring more plant based meals in to our diet this year and with Veganuary in full swing, why not start with this Vegan Herb and Pistachio Pesto. It is simple to prepare and healthy and delicious to boot.

Give it try, it won't disappoint. It literally only took a few minutes to prepare and Can be served with pasta (as we did), or tossed in with roast potatoes, added to a salad, spread on pizza or added to roast vegetables perhaps.

I have been wanting to try tofu for ages now. Then I got thinking about going the whole hog and make a tofu dish, but ensuring it was vegan too. Nothing like jumping in the deep end! As it turns out it wasn't to difficult, it was created with good reviews too.
