Another day and another slow cooker meal! I had never cooked BBQ ribs in a slow cooker before and WOW WOW WOW, they melted in the mouth and because it was so simple to make, we got to spend all day having fun, without me having to worry about cooking.

Chinese Chicken with Hoisin Sauce - A budget version of Crispy Duck Pancakes. I actually purchased a large chicken for £2.05 in the yellow sticker section. Although if you have some chicken left from a Sunday roast you can use that.

Even with a chicken included in the price this came in at around £4.70, so still under the £5.00 budget.

The timings below don't include the chicken roasting time, so remember to include that in your calculations if you need to roast one.

The Eldest Lad found this recipe online and made a request it, so when I saw the chicken legs on a yellow sticker at the supermarket it seemed like a great idea to attempt it. It comes direct from Jamie Olivers 5 ingredient website and was super easy to prepare and cook.

The boys love pies and frequently request them. This particular easy chicken pie recipe is quick and affordable to make. It is also easy to change some ingredients to use up food you have left in the fridge.

In this recipe I used chicken breast, because I managed to get it really cheap in the yellow sticker section of the supermarket. However, I have also used left over roast chicken and skinless chicken thighs (chopped up). You could skip the bacon and add more vegetables if you wish.
