Pigs in Blankets and Mash, the ultimate comfort food
Half term completed and the countdown to Christmas has begun. Well, for the kids at least! In a vain attempt to get me more into the spirit, I decided to do a few Christmas related recipes, that are not a Christmas Dinner. Christmas food that isn't Christmas food! So to start this series off. I have updated the traditional bangers and mash, to festive bangers and mash with pigs in blankets. This took no time to prepare and only 20/25 minutes to cook.

Pigs in Blankets
This is a super easy and hassle-free dinner, festive bangers and mash with pigs in blankets is super quick and easy. Producing the ultimate festive comfort food.
Firstly I wrapped one piece of the streaky bacon around each sausage, drizzled a little oil over and chucked in a pre-heated oven at 180, for 20/25 minutes.
Meanwhile, I prepared the mash potato. When mashing, I added a little butter, a little milk and the horseradish sauce.
For the gravy, I made a really thick chicken gravy and added 3 tbsp of cranberry sauce.
Finally I plated it up to serve
Sausages £1.09 | Bacon £1.50 | Potatoes 50p | Cranberry Sauce 20p | Horseradish Sauce less than 5p |
£3.34 in total and enough left for a light lunch.
