How to cook the perfect gingered gammon
Everything you need for the Perfect Christmas Gammon
Chuck the onion, together with about 10 of the peppercorns into the slow cooker and place the gammon on the top. Pour in the ginger beer and cook on low for 7 hours.
Remove the gammon from the slow cooker and carefully remove the skin, leaving behind a thin layer of fat. Score the fat in a criss cross pattern and plonk a peppercorn into each cross.
Mix the ginger preserve and mustard together and spoon the mixture all over the gammon and chuck it into a pre heated 180 degree (fan) oven for about 20 minutes.
You can then either serve immediately or leave it to cool and serve as part of a meat platter.
And there you have it. The perfect Christmas Gammon.
