Asian Spicy Beef Salad
Salad Dressing
Put the chilli and garlic into a pestle and mortar and grind and bash them together. If you don't have a pestle and mortar, use a small saucepan and the end of a rolling pin.
Chuck the remaining salad dressing ingredients into the pestle and mortar and mix them together. Before setting aside.
While heating some oil in the frying pan, season the beef steaks with some salt. Once the pan is hot place the steaks in and cook for about 2 1/2 minutes on each side. When cooked place the beef steaks on a plate to rest for at least 10-15 minutes. If you don't hear the meat sizzle when putting it into the hot oil, it isn't hot enough so remove until the pan is hotter
Preparing the salad
While you are resting the meat, it is time to get the salad prepared and mixed. To do this, simply add it all together into a large bowl and mix it with your hands. Then slowly add a bit of the salad dressing. Tasting as you go, until the perfect amount is mixed in.
To serve, I sliced the beef into thin strips and placed it on a pile of mixed salad and dressing.
