The best Mcdonalds Chicken Nugget Copycat Recipe
McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets are a classic fast-food favourite, loved by people of all ages. The crispy little nuggets have been a staple in the fast-food chain’s menu for decades. However, have you ever thought about making them at home? With my homemade chicken nugget recipe, you can recreate the great taste of McDonald’s nuggets in your own kitchen.
History of Chicken Nuggets
The history of the chicken nugget is a little different from what you may expect. We often associate chicken nuggets with fast-food restaurants, they were actually invented by a food product development team led by Robert C. Baker in the 1950s. The team was trying to find a way to use up excess chicken meat and created bite-sized pieces of chicken that could be breaded and fried. They were an instant hit and soon made their way onto fast-food menus across the country.
Tips for Making McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets at Home
- Use room temperature ground chicken for a smoother batter.
- Double-fry the nuggets for extra crispiness.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees F.
- Let the excess batter drip off the nuggets before frying to prevent a runny batter.
- For a healthier version, try air fryer copycat chicken McNuggets.
