Slow Cooker meatballs with pasta

Another slow cooker meal. I actually made the meatballs the night before and left in the fridge over night. I went for turkey meatballs because it was cheaper and made a change from beef. Also it is lighter so more suited to spring weather.

This is a great recipe to batch cook and freeze for another day.

Slow cooker turkey meatballs with pasta

 1 onion, finely chopped 11p
 2 carrots, finely diced 15p
 3 garlic cloves, 2-thinly sliced 1-crushed 5p
 500 g passata 40p
 2 tbsp chopped parsley 20p
 400 g turkey mince £2.75
 4 tbsp porridge oats 20p
 pinch paprika
£3.86 for a meal for four, with enough left over for lunch the next day

I added the turkey, oats, paprika, salt and pepper and the crushed garlic into a bowl and mixed together, before making the meat balls about roughly 3cm in size.

I chucked the onion, carrots and garlic in to a pan and fried for about a minute before pouring in the passata and parsley. I then plonked this into the slow cooker.

I lightly browned the meatballs in the same pan before chucking these into the slow cooker.

I cooked for 6 or so hours before serving with some spaghetti.
