Chuck the flour onto a board and make a well in the middle. Crack the egg in to the well. If the kids are helping it may be more sensible and a lot less messy to use a large bowl.

Using a fork you can beat the eggs before gently mixing the flour and eggs together.

You can use food processor by chucking everything into the processor and blitzing until it is like breadcrumbs and then mixing together by hand.

Once mixed together the kneading begins. Sprinkle some flour on the work surface and knead with you hands. You should continue this process until it starts feeling soft. Then simply wrap in cling film until you are ready to use it.

You don't need any fancy equipment to roll it, some flour and a rolling pin will do. Simple take a small piece about the size of an apple and begin rolling. If it starts to stick you can dust with a bit more flour.

Keep rolling until it is as thin as you can get it and then cut to shape. Tagliatelle is a really easy pasta to make and cut. If you loosely roll the pasta like a Swiss roll and then simple cut ribbons about 1cm across.

To cook, you simple chuck it into a pan of boiling water and gentle simmer for about 3 minutes and hey presto! Fresh Homemade Pasta.
