  • 6 Eggs

Fresh Pasta Recipe

  • Chuck the flour onto a board and make a well in the middle. Crack the egg into the well. If the kids are helping it may be more sensible and a lot less messy to use a large bowl.
    600 g Flour, 6 Eggs
  • Using a fork you can beat the eggs before gently mixing the flour and eggs together. You can use a food processor by chucking everything into the processor and blitzing until it is like breadcrumbs and then mixing together by hand.
  • Once mixed together the kneading begins. Sprinkle some flour on the work surface and knead with your hands. You should continue this process until it starts feeling soft. Then simply wrap it in cling film until you are ready to use it.
  • You don't need any fancy equipment to roll it, some flour and a rolling pin will do. Simple take a small piece about the size of an apple and begin rolling. If it starts to stick you can dust it with a bit more flour.
  • Keep rolling until it is as thin as you can get it and then cut to shape. Tagliatelle is a really easy pasta to make and cut. If you loosely roll the pasta like a Swiss roll and then simply cut ribbons about 1cm across.
  • To cook, you simple chuck it into a pan of boiling water and gentle simmer for about 3 minutes and hey presto! Fresh Homemade Pasta. For something really simple add my easy

Another affordable and delicious recipe, perfect for a busy families midweek meal. This Spaghetti Puttanesca Recipe was delicious and was ready in 20 minutes. Most of the ingredients can be found in your kitchen cupboards already, just remember to pick up the bits you do need when you next go shopping. *MENTAL NOTE* If your kids ask what Puttanesca means in Italian, don't, I mean, DON'T Google it in front of them.

easy pasta and meatballs recipe
As part of my easy midweek meal recipes, I would like to introduce to you this simple, delicious and super quick and easy pasta recipe. Using just a few ingredients you can get this delicious dinner to the table in less than 15 minutes and it only costs a few pounds to feed the entire family. Family life seems to take over rather quickly. We never seem to have enough time. I'm either running about after the kids or helping them out with homework. You all know that I try to avoid processed food. I would rather cook from scratch and that way I know what we are eating. Plus, it is a lot cheaper. A midweek meal needs to not only be delicious and affordable. It needs to be quick and easy to prepare and cook. Most parents, myself included, don't have time to be in the kitchen for hours on end every night. Check out my latest affordable and homecooked recipe here.
