We love sticky rice and what’s not to like about it! You can use your fingers, it works well with many foods, chicken, pork, beef, and omelette to name a few. Plus by having a separate spicy dip you can satisfy everyone’s taste without making different dishes and you can buy glutinous rice (sticky rice) from many of the major supermarkets or Asian food shops fairly easily. My EASY, never fail technique.

  • Pour as much rice as needed into a large bowl.

  • Place aside for as long as you can (15 minutes to several hours), the rice will soak up the majority of the water during this time so the longer the better.
  • When you are ready to cook, you need to ensure that the rice is literally only just covered by water by pouring away the excess water or adding more. Cover the bowl with cling film and chuck it into the microwave and cook on high for 15 minutes.
  • Let it stand for at least 15 minutes or longer. Hey, presto! Easy Sticky Rice.
