I was lucky and found some shop-bought meatballs in the yellow sticker section, so decided to use them for this easy pasta and meatball recipe. However should you want to make your own, it is fairly straightforward. Mix some beef mince, breadcrumbs and seasoning together with an egg and using your hands pat them into small ball shapes. It should only take a few minutes longer.

  • Pasta of choice
  • 1 Tin chopped tomatoes
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Clove of garlic
  • Shop bought meatballs
  • Italian Seasoning

  • I was lucky and found some shop-bought meatballs in the yellow sticker section, so decided to use them for this easy pasta and meatball recipe. However should you want to make your own, it is fairly straightforward. Mix some beef mince, breadcrumbs a seasoning together with an egg and using your hands pat them into small ball shapes.   • First things first. You need to heat a little oil in a frying pan and then chuck the meatballs in and brown them off for a few minutes, before removing and setting them aside for later.

  • Next up, put the onion and garlic into the same pan and soften them over low heat for about five minutes. Meanwhile, cook the pasta as per the packet instructions.

  • Once softened add the tomatoes and Italian seasoning and heat through before adding the meatballs.

  • Once cooked add the pasta to the saucepan with the tomato sauce in, together with a good tablespoon or so of the pasta water. Give it a good mix together and serve.

  • If you don’t fancy meatballs, maybe mix it up with some extra vegetables instead. We often use peppers, onions and courgettes with this recipe as a substitute for meat.
