The Original Recipe
KFC’s chicken pieces are made using the company’s famous “Original Recipe” blend of spices. This recipe is a closely guarded secret that only a handful of people in the world know. However, there are many copycat KFC recipes out there that claim to replicate the taste of the original recipe.
The ingredients in the Original Recipe blend include flour, salt, black pepper, garlic salt, onion salt, celery salt, paprika, and monosodium glutamate (MSG). The blend is mixed with purpose flour, and the chicken is coated in the seasoned flour mixture before being fried in hot oil.
The cooking method used by KFC is also unique. The chicken pieces are cooked in a pressure fryer, which cooks the chicken faster and seals in the juices, resulting in moist and tender meat. KFC also uses a special spice mixture that is added to the flour coating to give the chicken its distinctive flavour.
