Back to basics cooking. This Easy Cheese Sauce recipe, is simple, quick and can be made from ingredients you already have lying around at home. You can add, cooked chicken, cooked bacon, green beans, other vegetables, almost anything you have in the fridge. It can be served with Pasta, rice dishes, over potatoes, over broccoli and other vegetable. This makes this easy cheese sauce super flexible and a handy recipe to have to hand for a quick, affordable and delicious dinner or lunch.

Easy Cheese Sauce

  • 60 g Plain Flour
  • 60 g Unsalted Butter
  • 600 ml Milk
  • 1/2 tsp Grated Nutmeg
  • Grated Cheese to Taste

Easy Cheese Sauce

  • Start by melting the butter in a sauce pan and then after adding the flour stir continuously until a paste forms. Then slowly bit by bit add the milk and whisked by hand until it thickens up. Finally add some grated cheese, & grated nutmeg to taste (you can add English mustard too). Simple, easy and quick. Add it to pasta for a cheap easy meal. You could add left over chicken, ham, bacon to jazz it up a bit..
